Manual Lymph Drainage or MLD is an advanced massage treatment that reduces swelling, removes congestion, minimizes scar tissue formation, stimulates the healing process, reduces the appearance of cellulite, eases Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and is a powerful detoxifier for the entire body. MLD is highly recommended for pre/post operative procedures such as facelifts, liposuction, plastic, reconstructive, and orthopedic surgery.
The Dr. Vodder technique is the original method of Manual Lymph Drainage which is available from our Director, Ms. Robin Ehrlich at Eastside Massage Therapy Center in New York City.
Ms. Robin Ehrlich, has been a New York State licensed Massage Therapist for over 20 years and is certified in Manual Lymph Drainage. She was trained by physicians and physical therapists at the Dr. Vodder School.
MLD was developed in Europe in the 1930's by Dr. Emil and Estrid Vodder. Manual Lymph Drainage is a specialized massage that utilizes very gentle strokes, which stimulates lymph flow in order to decongest and detoxify the tissue. This method speeds the removal of waste products from the tissue via the lymph vessel system, while reducing pain and enhancing the immune system.
In addition, MLD helps to improve the following conditions: chronic swelling, chronic pain, pre-menstrual syndrome, tension-related headaches, migraines, sinus conditions, fatigue syndromes and scar tissue.
MLD is the most popular massage treatment to reduce swelling, bruising and adhesions, as long as there are no contra-indications.
Home/Office/Hospital visits are available by appointment.
